Key Responsibilities: 1. Foundation Simulation Training Delivery:Lead and coordinate UHL foundation simulation sessions. Applicants will be taught how to conduct effective debriefs and will gain qualifications in faculty simulation debriefing. Design and implement scenarios tailored to foundational competencies or use the stock of current scenarios, with a focus on clinical skills, communication, and human factors. Evaluate and improve simulation scenarios based on feedback and evolving educational standards. 2. Teaching and Facilitation:Conduct hands-on simulation sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate learners, focusing on developing essential clinical and interpersonal skills. Engage in interdisciplinary teaching and co-facilitate workshops, providing debriefing and reflective feedback.3. Curriculum Development:Support the incorporation of simulation into the broader curriculum, aligning simulation activities with specific learning outcomes. Collaborate with faculty members to explore innovative educational techniques, including gamification methods like escape rooms.4. Educational Research and Quality Improvement:Participate in quality improvement projects focused on simulation, analysing outcomes and suggesting improvements. Conduct or support research on simulation and medical education, with opportunities to present or publish findings. 5. Leadership and Administrative Responsibilities:Maintain accurate records of simulation activities, evaluations, and feedback. Collaborate with simulation centre staff on scheduling, equipment setup, and resource management. Pursue educational leadership opportunities within the department.6. Professional Development:Participate in relevant educational programs and pursue qualifications such as a PG Certificate (supported by the Trust). Develop management skills within an educational setting, with support from senior faculty. Although the focus of these posts is on simulation, there will be weekly involvement with teaching for medical students from GKT Medical School and close collaboration with the KCL Education Fellows. Additional Information For All Posts: Clinical Commitment: There is no clinical commitment to these posts and it is optional to participate in a specialty clinic depending on specialty interest. Clinical bank shifts may be available if interested in out-of-hours and weekend work but should not conflict with this full time post. Cross-Site Flexibility: Although based at either UHL or QEH, cross-site work is encouraged, allowing for broaden exposure and collaboration on shared projects. There will be weekly involvement with teaching for medical students from GKT Medical School and close collaboration with Education Fellow colleagues. Bedside teaching will form part of the weekly teaching schedule during term time.
