Long Term Futures is seeking a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and additional Special Educational Needs. This role focuses on supporting pupils with complex needs, including behavioural challenges, emotional regulation, and communication barriers within a supportive Wandsworth-based school.
This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about SEN, has experience working with vulnerable learners, and is committed to making a meaningful impact on students' development and wellbeing.
About the Role:
* Supporting pupils with a range of SEN including ASD, SEMH, and communication needs
* Providing consistent emotional support and promoting positive behaviour strategies
* Delivering tailored 1:1 support and small group interventions
* Working within specialist SEN provisions and adapted learning environments
* Supporting students to overcome barriers to learning and engage in education
* Using structured approaches to support focus, routine, and independence
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly ASD and SEMH needs
* Understanding of behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
* Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust with vulnerable pupils
* Patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
* Experience in education, care, or support settings is highly desirable
