The Opportunity
Due to growth and project requirements, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Process Engineer to join one of our key clients on a permanent basis. As Senior Process Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting critical water infrastructure projects. It is important to have experience in the water/wastewater or similar industries.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
- Producing robust process design outputs that meet safety, quality and regulatory requirements across water and wastewater schemes
- Developing efficient process solutions through interpretation of scope, site data and stakeholder input, and clearly presenting these to clients and project teams
- Leading and supporting graduate and junior engineers to ensure high-quality technical delivery
- Completing process calculations, mass balances, hydraulic sizing, flow diagrams, control philosophies and commissioning approaches
- Preparing technical reports, specifications, design risk assessments and contributing to HAZOP and other formal design reviews
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
- Extensive process design experience within the regulated water industry, with a proven focus on wastewater treatment
- Strong technical knowledge of wastewater unit processes and treatment plant design
- Engineering qualification – Beng/MEng in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
- Confidence working to recognised engineering standards, company procedures and formal design processes
- Sound IT capability and the ability to manage design changes, documentation and programme estimates
It’s great if you also have the following
- Chartered or working towards Chartered status with a recognised engineering institution
- Previous involvement in HAZOP studies, ideally chairing or acting as lead process engineer
