Job Summary
The Locum Senior House Officer (SHO) will provide high quality clinical care across designated departments within the NHS Trust. The postholder will support the multidisciplinary team in delivering safe, effective, and patient centred services, ensuring continuity of care and adherence to Trust policies and national clinical standards.


Key Responsibilities
• Provide day to day medical assessment, treatment, and management of patients.
• Participate in ward rounds, clerking, and ongoing patient reviews.
• Support emergency and acute care pathways as required.
• Ensure accurate documentation and timely completion of clinical notes.
• Liaise with senior clinicians, nursing teams, and allied health professionals.
• Participate in handovers, MDT meetings, and escalation processes.
• Comply with Trust governance, safeguarding, and infection control standards.
• Contribute to audits, quality improvement, and service development where appropriate.


Essential Requirements
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience post qualification.
• Valid Right to Work in the UK.
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
• GMC registration with a licence to practise.
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication, clinical judgement, and organisational skills.
