Bishop Road Activity Clubs (BRAC)
Bishop Road Activity Clubs (BRAC) are looking for an enthusiastic and caring Playworker to join our friendly team. This is a permanent role supporting our busy after-school and breakfast clubs, providing high-quality childcare for children aged 4 to 11 years.
About the role
As a Playworker, you will help create a safe, inclusive, creative and stimulating environment where children can relax, play and thrive. Working closely with the Room Leader, you’ll support both individual and group activities, ensuring children are well supervised and encouraged to explore child centred play.
You’ll build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues, always keeping children’s safety, wellbeing and welfare at the heart of what you do.
Key responsibilities
• Supporting the preparation of the play environment, equipment and resources
• Helping to plan and deliver engaging play activities
• Supervising children and encouraging inclusive, child centred play
• Supporting children’s development through play, including children with additional needs
• Promoting equality, diversity and inclusion
• Maintaining health and safety standards and following all policies and procedures
• Responding appropriately to any safeguarding or welfare concerns
• Attending meetings and relevant training
Working hours (between 6 - 22.5 hours a week/ various working patterns available)
• Breakfast Club: 7.30am – 9.00am
• After School Club: 3.00pm – 6.00pm
• During school holidays, there is the opportunity for additional hours through our holiday clubs (8.00am – 6.00pm, Monday–Friday)
