About Us

Connect, part of the Screwfix family and owned by the Kingfisher Group, is a leading name in the distribution of high-quality appliance spare parts and accessories.

With over 50 years of experience, we’re proud of our heritage and excited about our future. Our journey began in 1969 when a Birmingham-based appliance engineer started selling spare parts to fellow engineers — the first of many opportunities that shaped who we are today.

Now, as part of Screwfix, we continue to grow with the support, resources, and knowledge of one of the UK’s most recognised retail groups, allowing us to deliver exceptional products and service to our customers.

About the Role

We are looking for a Cleaner to join our team, supporting the cleanliness and presentation of our distribution centre. This role is essential in helping us maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for all colleagues across both office and warehouse communal areas.

This is a flexible part-time opportunity of around 16 hours per week. Shifts will take place Monday to Friday, starting no earlier than 4pm and finishing no later than 10pm. We’re happy to discuss preferred working hours and will work with the right candidate to agree a shift pattern that suits both the individual and the business.

The role will involve:

Cleaning communal areas including kitchens, toilets, canteens, offices, and shared welfare spaces
Maintaining cleanliness within warehouse communal areas
Emptying bins and ensuring waste is disposed of correctly
Replenishing cleaning and hygiene supplies such as soap, toilet roll, and paper towels
Carrying out routine cleaning tasks including mopping, vacuuming, wiping surfaces, and sanitising touchpoints
Reporting any maintenance issues, damage, or stock shortages
Ensuring cleaning duties are completed in line with health, safety, and hygiene standards
Helping to create a clean and pleasant working environment for all colleagues and visitors

What we need from you:

Previous cleaning experience is preferred, ideally within a commercial, warehouse, or office environment
A good understanding of hygiene and health & safety standards
Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
Good attention to detail and a thorough approach to cleaning tasks
Flexibility to work agreed shifts within the evening window
A positive and dependable attitude
