Self Employed Driver & Lifestyle Support Assistant (Trauma-Aware Role – Female only)
I am a disabled woman and wheelchair user looking for a reliable, emotionally strong and supportive female driver to assist me day to day as i work through challenges following an accident and past experiences.
I am mostly physically independent; this role is more about practical support, companionship, and emotional steadiness, rather than hands-on care.
This is not a traditional care role, but it does require someone who is resilient, grounded, and comfortable supporting someone working through emotional trauma. A calm, understanding nature and the ability to handle challenging moments with patience and compassion are essential.
Requirements:
Must have your own vehicle big enough to accommodate my wheelchair (and ideally 1 other person)
Must be able to swim
Must love dogs and be willing to help care for one
Comfortable supporting a wheelchair user in day-to-day activities (no heavy care required)
Excellent communication skills
Good sense of humour
High level of patience and emotional resilience
Experience:
Formal care experience is not required. Life experience, emotional intelligence, and a genuine understanding of people are far more important.
Hours:
Full-time
Some weekends required
Occasional travel and overnight stays
