Crynodeb
The Funeral Operative plays a critical role in the funeral operations which includes participating on the 24 hour call out rota. They will primarily be based in Musselburgh but will also include working in other branches
Job Duties/ Responsibilities:-
• Driving and assisting on funerals
• Preparation of coffins to a very high standard
• Taking care of the deceased:
• Collection of the deceased from the place of death
• Preparation of the deceased to the client’s instructions
• Ensure funeral vehicles are cleaned and prepared ready for use
• Deliver and collect paperwork between branches and offices
• General maintenance of working areas
• Participate in the 24 hour call out rota
• Branch cover as required
• Training – attend training as and when requested to maintain skills or learn new ones
Education and experience:
• Relevant funeral experience would be advantageous but not necessary
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
• Full, clean driving license
• Pleasant personality and ability to adapt to the client’s individual needs
• The ability to manage emotion
• An empathetic nature
• Respect for others
• Commitment and flexibility
• To be able to carry out physically demanding tasks
• The ability to carry out work in a dignified and professional manner
• Work well as part of a team
