We are looking for a motivated and well-organised individual to join our Operating Services team as a Theatre Equipment and Standardisation Assistant. This Band 3 role supports safe and efficient theatre operations by coordinating equipment requirements, maintaining standardised processes, and ensuring equipment is available, maintained and ready for use across both sites. Working closely with theatre teams, sterile services, medical engineering, procurement and suppliers, you will play a key role in improving equipment flow, supporting patient care and contributing to service efficiencies.
• Coordinate daily equipment requirements with Sterile Services and theatre teams.
• Support standardisation of equipment, trays and consumables across both sites.
• Liaise with Medical Engineering and contractors for maintenance, repairs and servicing.
• Monitor and audit consignment stock and support equipment expenditure tracking.
• Assist in organising clinical skills training and liaising with suppliers.
• Support the collection of data and information for business cases and service improvement work.
• Escalate equipment issues promptly to managers or engineering teams.
• Contribute to updating SOPs and supporting service change implementation.

The Theatre Equipment and Standardisation Assistant provides vital operational support within the theatre environment. The post holder will work across both sites to ensure equipment and consumables are planned, available and standardised in line with clinical needs and theatre scheduling. This includes daily communication with Sterile Services, coordinating equipment turnaround, assisting with maintenance and repair arrangements, and supporting accurate stock and consignment processes.
The role also involves supporting improvement projects, providing data for business cases, assisting with clinical skills training arrangements, and helping maintain SOPs and service documentation. The post holder will work closely with theatre teams, medical engineering, procurement, scheduling teams and external suppliers to support safe, efficient equipment pathways and contribute to high-quality patient care. Strong organisation, flexibility, clear communication and effective prioritisation are essential within this fast-paced environment.
