Are you passionate about delivering compassionate, patient‑centred care and making a meaningful difference every day?

Sconce Ward at Newark Hospital is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Clinical Support Worker to join our friendly and supportive team. Sconce Ward is a 32‑bed inpatient ward, comprising six bays and six single rooms, offering a dynamic and rewarding environment where no two days are the same.

You will work closely with an experienced and collaborative Multi‑Disciplinary Team (MDT), playing a vital role in the delivery of high‑quality sub‑acute care and ongoing rehabilitation. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills, gain valuable experience, and contribute directly to improving patient outcomes.

We pride ourselves on offering a positive, motivating, and inclusive workplace, where staff are supported to grow, feel valued, and deliver the very best care. At Sconce Ward, compassion, teamwork, and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything we do—ensuring both our patients and our staff can truly thrive.

As a Clinical Support Worker, you’ll be a vital member of our dedicated team, contributing to our mission of providing exceptional patient care. Your responsibilities will include:
• Assisting patients with their daily needs and activities, promoting comfort and dignity.
• Collaborating with nurses and medical staff to ensure seamless care delivery.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming ward environment.
• Providing compassionate support to patients and their families during challenging times.

We are an award-winning NHS Foundation Trust working alongside health and social care colleagues across the county to provide acute and community healthcare services to more than 420,000 people across Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood, and parts of Derbyshire and Lincolnshire.

We put the patient at the heart of everything that we do and it is our aim to make sure that every patient is treated as we would want a member of our own family to be treated. At the same time, we expect our staff to be caring, kind and courteous to each other and to look out for each other. We believe that we are truly a clinically-led organisation.

We are proud that our Trust colleagues have voted us the best acute Trust to work for in the East Midlands for seven years running in the National NHS Staff Survey, while the Care Quality Commission has rated our Trust as ‘outstanding’ for care and our King’s Mill Hospital as the only ‘outstanding’ NHS-run hospital in the East Midlands.
