Crynodeb
The North Central London Perinatal Pelvic Health Service (hosted by Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust) provides specialist perinatal pelvic health care across hospitals and community sites, throughout Barnet, Enfield, Haringey, Islington and Camden.
This role has been developed as part of the Maternity Transformation Programme for North Central London, aiming to enhance specialist perinatal pelvic health care for women during pregnancy and postpartum.
The Perinatal Pelvic Health Service is closely linked with departments such as Gynaecology, Maternity, Urology, and Colorectal, ensuring appropriate clinical pathways for patients experiencing pelvic health symptoms. The post-holder will work closely with the Band 8a Clinical Lead Perinatal Pelvic Health Specialist, who will provide leadership, supervision, and mentoring opportunities. There will also be opportunities to join the local networks multicentre physiotherapy and multidisciplinary training sessions.
This role involves working across two site locations, requiring flexibility in service delivery to meet the needs of the perinatal population.

To work as an autonomous practitioner within the multidisciplinary Perinatal Pelvic Health Service.
To provide highly specialised assessment and intervention for a varied caseload of outpatients within the speciality of perinatal pelvic health, including patients with highly complex presentations, with the aim of facilitating short- and long-term self-management strategies.
To contribute to the ongoing development of the Perinatal Pelvic Health Service, in consultation with the Head of Therapy Services, ensuring maximum efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
To work closely with the Band 8 Clinical Lead Perinatal Pelvic Health Specialist to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care and service improvements.
To supervise, teach, and appraise junior physiotherapists, assistants, and students as appropriate.
To lead, initiate, and participate in evidence-based projects and in-service training sessions.
