The States of Guernsey are looking for a Senior Paediatric Staff Nurse to join the team on Frossard Ward.
As a Senior Paediatric Nurse, you will be responsible for promoting a progressive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care by utilizing research and evidence-based practice. You will be expected to provide clinical leadership to a designated nursing team and ensure the delivery of optimal nursing care to children and their families.
You will act as a role model and provide clinical expertise. You will also be responsible for implementing and monitoring quality assurance initiatives, including development of action plans and measuring outcomes. You will be expected to attend a minimum of four ward meetings a year.
When paediatric emergency situations occur in the Accident and Emergency department, a qualified paediatric nurse may be called to provide support. On occasions a child may require stabilisation and intensive care, before being transferred to another hospital in the UK. In such situation you will be required to work closely alongside an adult ICU nurse to provide optimal care before the patient is transferred.
As a band 6 nurse you will be aware of your own, and others, accountability and responsibility and work within the NMC Code.
