Crynodeb
As a Class 1 HGV Driver you are required to assist passengers with reduced mobility and or hidden disabilities throughout their journey. Using a variety of means to ensure they are safe and always treated with dignity.
Your responsibilities will include assisting in the moving of passengers, using wheelchairs, aisle chairs or other suitable means and you will aid passengers with luggage when required.
Fully and satisfactorily complete all the tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Safe Systems of Work (SSoW)Proactively report all safety concerns and instances to your supervisor. And to be compliant with industry legislation, ensuring EC1107 is achieved and failures reported.
You will correctly use AvTech PDA devices to record details of a passenger's journey. You are required to complete yearly refresher training and Security and Health & Safety courses. You are required to undertake additional training as required for continuous self-development.
You are expected to look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site and stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
You are required to use your initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening whilst maintaining professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and to call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.
We are looking for you to be able to lift passengers in accordance with manual handling guidelines. And have excellent communication skills with an empathic nature. You will demonstrate ability to cope with a busy environment.
Mitie will require a 5 year checkable reference history, proof of right to work in the UK and you are required to pass a basic Criminal Record Check/DBS.
