Position Overview
The Food and Beverage Assistant supports the smooth operation of the hotel’s dining outlets, including restaurants, bars, lounges, and room service. This role is essential in delivering high-quality service, ensuring guest satisfaction, and maintaining the standards of the hotel’s food and beverage offerings.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service
• Greet guests warmly and guide them to their tables or service areas
• Take food and drink orders accurately and efficiently
• Serve meals and beverages in a timely and professional manner
• Respond to guest inquiries, dietary needs, and special requests
• Ensure a clean and welcoming dining environment at all times
Bar & Beverage Support
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks (if trained and licensed)
• Restock bar supplies and maintain cleanliness of bar area
• Assist with wine service and pairing recommendations
Setup & Maintenance
• Set up dining areas for service, including table settings and decorations
• Clear tables and reset for next guests promptly
• Maintain cleanliness of service stations, dining areas, and back-of-house spaces
• Assist with buffet setup and replenishment during breakfast or events
Operational Support
• Process payments and operate POS systems accurately
• Assist with room service orders and delivery
• Support event catering and banquet service as needed
• Report any guest concerns or maintenance issues to supervisors
Skills & Competencies
• Customer Service Excellence: Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanour
• Communication: Clear verbal skills and active listening
• Teamwork: Ability to collaborate with kitchen, bar, and front-of-house teams
• Attention to Detail: Precision in order-taking, presentation, and cleanliness
• Adaptability: Comfortable working in fast-paced and changing environments
Working Conditions
• Shifts may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Standing and walking for extended periods required
• May involve lifting trays, carrying dishes, and handling hot or cold items
