An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist with an interest/specialism in Trauma to join the Neuro and Trauma team as a static Band 6 Trauma Occupational Therapist. This position will have exposure in Major Trauma, Orthopaedics and plastics wards.
You will be part of a large, friendly, and dynamic multidisciplinary team who provide assessment and intervention to adults who have been involved in major trauma. You will be given the opportunity to develop knowledge, skills, and experience with working with those with polytrauma, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, soft tissue injuries including those requiring flaps/grafts and degloving injuries, multiple orthopaedic injuries, and injuries of the organs.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for Occupational Therapy, excellent communication skills, plenty of initiative and enthusiasm, and with the ability to work autonomously and as a part of a wider MDT.
To provide specialist assessment and intervention to patients with complex and multiple poly trauma and neurological conditions, determining impairment, activity limitation and participation / role restrictions and develop the occupational therapy intervention required.
To work in an integrated way with inter team colleagues and external agencies spanning acute, primary care, community health services and the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
To participate in the continued service development of the Trauma Occupational Therapy service.
