HGV Class 2 Driver (Category C) – Temp to Perm
Location: Bicester Banbury or Oxford
Salary: £17.50 – £20.00 per hour + Holiday Accrual + Pension (PAYE)
Job Type: Full-time | Temp to Perm (12 weeks)
Job Overview
We are currently recruiting HGV Class 2 (Category C) Drivers for immediate starts in Bicester. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers seeking ongoing work with a clear pathway to a permanent position.
You will be working for a well-established distribution operation, delivering food products to a range of hospitality clients including restaurants and fast-food outlets.
Key Responsibilities
Multi-drop deliveries (typically 3–8 drops per shift)
Delivery of:
Fresh produce
Frozen goods
Meat and dairy products
Manual handling and handballing using a pump truck
Unloading and placing goods into appropriate storage areas (chilled, frozen, ambient)
Completing all deliveries accurately and within scheduled times
Carrying out daily vehicle checks and adhering to all driver compliance and safety regulations
Securing delivery sites (full training provided for keys and alarm systems)
Shift Patterns
Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday
Start times between 00:30 and 06:00
Average shift length: up to 12 hours
Requirements
Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence
Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
Minimum 1 year Class 2 driving experience
No more than 6 penalty points (no major endorsements)
Good level of physical fitness (due to manual handling requirements)
Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
Strong understanding of UK driver hours and regulations
