Full-time | On site
Augustus Martin is looking for an experienced, hands-on HR Manager to lead the day-to-day HR function in our fast-paced manufacturing business.
This is a broad generalist role with real ownership. You will work closely with senior leaders and managers across the business, providing practical HR support, leading on employee relations, strengthening people processes and helping to build a high-performing and well-managed working environment.
The role is supported by a Learning and Development Assistant and will suit someone who is commercially aware, confident in UK employment law, and comfortable operating in a visible on-site role. You will need to be equally comfortable handling day-to-day HR issues and driving improvements in core people processes.
Key areas of responsibility
• Managing employee relations issues including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance matters
• Coaching and supporting managers on people issues and HR best practice
• Maintaining HR policies, procedures and legal compliance
• Supporting recruitment, onboarding and probation processes
• Leading key people processes including performance reviews and engagement activity
• Identifying training needs and working with the Learning and Development Assistant to support management capability
• Using HR data and insight to improve people processes and decision-making
• Supporting organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives
What we are looking for
• Strong generalist HR experience
• Sound knowledge of UK employment law
• Experience in a fast-paced operational business
• Confidence, credibility and strong communication skills
• A practical, organised and solution-focused approach
• CIPD qualification desirable
• Manufacturing or similar operational sector experience would be an advantage

Augustus Martin is seeking a confident, commercially minded HR Manager to lead the day-to-day HR function in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This is a broad, hands-on generalist role supported by a Learning and Development Assistant, with responsibility for employee relations, manager coaching, recruitment support, HR policy and process improvement, engagement activity and organisational change support.
We are looking for someone with:
