We are seeking a motivated and compassionate individual to join the Urology Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) team in a pivotal support role across the cancer pathway. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality, patient-centred care within a dynamic multidisciplinary team. The post holder will support patients throughout their cancer journey by coordinating care, undertaking clinical support activities, and ensuring timely communication across services. The role requires an organised, proactive individual who is confident working independently and under supervision, and who is committed to maintaining the highest standards of care. The Jobholder will carry continuing responsibility for a defined caseload, including the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. The jobholder will provide highly specialised nursing advice and care to adults diagnosed with Prostate Cancers. The job holder will contribute to the development of the speciality service in collaboration with the wider MDT as well as contributing to the strategic direction of nursing within the Trust. The jobholder will manage and lead a team of nurse specialists at Band 6 and below and be responsible for the effective use of resources within the clinical team. Key Responsibilities Lead the prostate service and the Clinical Nurse Specialist team Support the implementation, delivery, and evaluation of patient care within the multidisciplinary team. Undertake ward reviews and assist in the coordination of outpatient appointments. Conduct post-operative telephone follow-ups and appropriately triage clinical queries. Ensure effective communication and seamless care coordination across the cancer pathway. Lead and supervise a team of Clinical Support Workers and Apprentice Clinical Support Workers. Maintain a safe, effective clinical environment that promotes high standards of patient care. Act on own initiative within defined competency boundaries to achieve planned outcomes. Practice in accordance with Trust policies, guidelines, professional standards, and statutory requirements. Work flexibly across ward, clinical department, or community settings as required. Comply with PPE requirements appropriate to the clinical setting, including prolonged use of face masks where necessary. Stock ordering and stock taking
