The gastrointestinal services division at University College Hospital is one of the largest in the UK, comprising clinical and academic consultant physicians working within the subspecialty areas of upper GI/laser medicine, HPB medicine, lower GI/IBD, nutrition, and clinical physiology. The department is based in University College Hospital and has a state-of-the-art 8 room endoscopy suite.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly skilled B7 Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or Specialist Psychological Therapist to join our Adult Gastroenterology Psychology Service for a fixed-term maternity cover (12 months) post.
We work directly with multidisciplinary teams across Neurogastroenterology and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), and into other cross-disciplinary teams across gastroenterology outpatient and inpatient services. Specialty teams include administration staff, gastroenterologists, clinical nurse specialists, pharmacists, dietitians, surgeons and other professionals. To provide a clinical psychology service to the Adult Gastroenterology Psychology Service.
To assess and treat a specialist caseload of patients and maintain associated records.
Participate in CPD and other developmental activities.
Undertake R & D and clinical audit.
Clinically supervise Assistant Psychologists, other professionals and Trainee Clinical Psychologists as appropriate.
