Night Attendant - Special School Residential Provision
Location: Rudyard nr Leek
Hours: Waking night shifts, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
Duration - Until December 2025 - Term time
Contract: Temporary / Fixed-term options available

We are looking for a caring, reliable and confident Night Attendant to support the pupils within our residential setting. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about creating a safe, calm and nurturing overnight environment for children and young people with a range of physical and learning needs.
Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a waking watch throughout the night to ensure pupils' safety and wellbeing.
  • Support with personal care, dressing/undressing and morning routines where required.
  • Maintain a calm, reassuring presence and respond quickly and appropriately to any needs during the night.
  • Follow individual care plans, health plans and behaviour/safeguarding procedures.
  • Monitor pupils as required and keep accurate records and logs.
  • Work confidently as the primary adult on shift, while liaising with the wider residential and school team.

Desirable Qualifications & TrainingWhile not essential, it would be ideal for applicants to have:

  • Level 3 qualification (such as L3 Caring for Children & Young People, Health & Social Care, CYPW or equivalent).
  • PEG feeding knowledge or experience (training can be refreshed if needed).
  • Epilepsy awareness and rescue medication training (refresher can be provided).
  • Manual Handling / Moving & Handling training.
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN, physical disabilities, medical needs or complex needs.
