About the Role
We are currently working with a number of secondary schools across Kent who are seeking confident and reliable Cover Supervisors / Class Supervisors to support with the day-to-day running of lessons.
This role involves supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged with pre-set work and maintaining a positive learning environment. It is an excellent opportunity for individuals considering a career in teaching or those with experience working with young people.
Opportunities are available on both a flexible and long-term basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising whole classes in the absence of a teacher
- Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Ensuring pupils remain on task and engaged in learning
- Providing feedback to teaching staff following lessons
- Supporting students where necessary to complete assigned work
Requirements
- Previous experience working with young people (education, youth work, coaching or similar)
- Confident managing groups of students in a classroom setting
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Calm, professional and adaptable approach
- A degree or relevant qualification is desirable but not essential
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK
