This role is open to all applicants. However in line with Cornwall first principles, initial shortlisting will prioritise applicants from Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and the Integrated Care Board for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Acute Learning Disability and Autism Liaison Nurse , working with children and adults accessing acute care.

This post has been developed to increase access and reduce health inequalities for people with learning disabilities and/or who are on the autism spectrum.

Act as a resource for the acute hospital regarding the complex health needs of people with a learning disability and or on the autism spectrum.

Manage the interface between mainstream general hospital services, primary care services and community specialist disability services.

Support children and adults with Learning Disabilities and /or Autism as Inpatients, outpatient appointments and emergency attendances.

Develop effective and collaborative working with healthcare and multi-agency colleagues, including identifying and meeting the training needs and providing specialist and nursing advice.

Incorporate the philosophy outlined in “Valuing People”, working closely with the Equality and Diversity, Inclusion lead.

Work in adherence with the Mental Capacity Act 2005, advising other staff on its correct application.
