Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our nursery environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating atmosphere for young children, ensuring their developmental needs are met in accordance with early childhood education standards. This role offers an opportunity to lead a team, implement educational programmes, and foster positive relationships with children and their families.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise nursery staff to deliver high-quality childcare and educational activities
Plan, organise, and implement age-appropriate learning experiences that promote children's development
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children within the nursery environment at all times
Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and behaviour
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's development and daily activities
Manage daily routines including meal times, naps, and play sessions in line with organisational policies
Support team members through coaching, training, and guidance to uphold professional standards
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and nursery policies
Drive organisational initiatives to enhance the quality of care provided
Qualifications
Proven management and leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting
Extensive experience working with children, preferably within early childhood education or childcare environments
Strong understanding of child development principles and nursery practices
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Childcare qualifications to degree level
Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate organisational needs or family visits if required
Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst demonstrating leadership qualities
Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
