Crynodeb
We are recruiting four Bin Audit Officers, to work across London Borough of Enfield, to support Enfield Council in assessing the status of communal bin stores in the area.
Reporting to Resource Futures and the waste management team at London Borough of Enfield, successful applicants will work closely with Enfield Council and third-party on-site staff, to review and record existing bin provisions, visually assess the practicality of introducing food waste containers, and other details around the current state of storage.
Enfield Council have a portfolio of around 40,000 flats across 2,500 blocks. Half of these blocks are managed by Enfield Council, and the rest are privately owned. The aim of the work is to improve the quality of recycling in London Borough of Enfield by enhancing the understanding of communal bin store provisions across the borough. Knowledge is currently limited and more detail is required to support rollout of food recycling collections to all flats as part of the upcoming mandatory Simpler Recycling regulations.
The role is an excellent opportunity to get hands-on experience in waste management or public sector work and is a great first step for a career in the sector.
What you will be doing
The task involves auditing bin store provisions across the communal properties in London Borough of Enfield. The information will be recorded via a survey app on a tablet provided to you. Photos should be taken throughout the period.
You will be reporting to a Resource Futures Team Leader, whose role includes informing your routes each day and liaising with the office-based Project Manager. You will also work with the on-site staff to gain entrance to the bin storage areas.
You will be expected to adhere to all health and safety procedures on site, and will receive training on these, in advance of beginning work. A letter of authority from Enfield Council will be provided, which can be shown to any enquiring members of the public while you carry out the audits.
You will be required to work 35 hours per week, 5 days a week, Monday to Friday for 10 weeks. It is expected that approximately 8 bin audits per day will be completed.
The work will begin directly after an in-person training day facilitated by Resource Futures in Enfield on Monday 11th May 2026. This training will be fully paid.
