Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant
Location: Stockport
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-Time (Agency)
About the Role:
We are currently recruiting for a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive college in Stockport. This full-time agency role is available for an immediate start and offers a rewarding opportunity to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a post-16 education setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, and moderate learning difficulties
- Assist students in accessing course materials and participating fully in lessons
- Support students with emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies
- Work closely with lecturers, SENCOs, and support staff to deliver tailored learning plans
- Promote independence, confidence, and social skills development
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience working with SEN students in an educational or care setting
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
- Relevant qualifications ( Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential
