Protocol Education is recruiting a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a Gateshead primary school. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.
You'll be supporting pupils throughout their school day, helping them access learning in a way that works for them. Every interaction you have will help build trust, confidence, and independence.
Your day could include:
- Supporting a child 1:1 during lessons, breaking tasks into manageable steps
- Reading alongside pupils and developing their confidence with books
- Assisting with writing and classroom activities
- Providing emotional support and encouragement
- Helping pupils stay focused, engaged, and included
This is a role where the smallest moments - a child reading a sentence independently, joining in with a group, or feeling proud of their work - become the biggest achievements.
- You are patient, resilient, and empathetic
- You build relationships easily and genuinely care
- You are proactive and willing to get involved
- You have a strong interest in working with children
- Any previous experience is helpful but not essential
- Monday to Friday
- 8:30am - 3:30pm
- Term-time only
