We are looking for a compassionate, committed carer to support our 24 year old disabled son both at home and within a day care setting. The successful candidate will have relevant experience and a strong dedication to enhancing an individual’s wellbeing and daily quality of life.
This role involves providing personalised care, assisting with everyday tasks, and maintaining a safe, comfortable environment at all times. We are seeking someone who is organised, empathetic, and confident in managing a range of care needs within a family home.
The position also includes 24 nights of respite care per year, carried out in the individual’s own home. Our family member is wheelchair dependent, non verbal, and doubly incontinent.
This is a fixed term contract for 39 hours per week, working Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
You must have a clean driving license and post is subject to disclosure and barring service (DBS) check.
Responsibilities
1. Provide personalised care tailored to the specific needs of the family member, including assistance with mobility, personal hygiene and daily routines
2. Administer medication and feed safely via PEG in accordance with prescribed care plans
3. Monitor health status and report any concerns promptly to family members
4. Support emotional wellbeing through companionship and engaging activities
5. Drive the family member to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safe transportation
