We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant/Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in care homes or home care settings. Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support clients with mobility and daily activities, promoting independence where possible
- Help with medication management in accordance with care plans
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in clients' conditions
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure holistic support
- Support clients in engaging with social activities and community outings, including driving when necessary
- Follow health and safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for both clients and staff
- Contribute to the development and review of individualised care plans
Skills
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to use IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Compassionate approach with a genuine desire to support others’ wellbeing
- Driving licence is desirable for supporting home care visits or outings
- Experience working within a care home or home care environment is advantageous but not essential
- Knowledge of care plans and ability to adapt support accordingly
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with clients and their families
