About the role
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Maintenance Electrician with strong experience working on fire alarm systems to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out electrical maintenance, repairs, and installations across our client sites, alongside servicing, fault-finding, and maintaining fire alarm systems.
You will ensure all works are completed in line with current regulations, British Standards, and health & safety requirements. This position includes out-of-hours and weekend working on a rota basis.
This is a varied, customer-facing role requiring both strong electrical competence and hands-on experience working with fire alarm systems in commercial or industrial environments.
Key responsibilities
• Perform planned preventative maintenance and reactive electrical repairs on a wide range of systems and equipment.
• Service, maintain, and fault-find on fire alarm systems across client sites.
• Carry out installation, repair and upgrades of electrical systems and associated fire alarm equipment.
• Diagnose faults across both general electrical systems and fire alarm systems, providing effective solutions.
• Carry out electrical testing and inspection in line with regulations (e.g. EICRs).
• Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and safe working practices.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, including certification, reports and maintenance logs.
• Participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours and weekend support.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure minimal disruption and high-quality service delivery.
Skills and experience required
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent qualification.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
• Proven experience in electrical maintenance and fault-finding within commercial or industrial environments.


• Strong practical experience working with fire alarm systems, including servicing, maintenance, and fault diagnosis.
• Good understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and drawings.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Full UK driving licence.
