We are looking for a motivated, inspirational and exceptional leader to join our large, friendly, paediatric audiology team.
This is a split role with approximately 50% of clinical and 50% managerial responsibilities. You will work alongside the other Principal Audiologists in providing the daily operational leadership of the service. You will be expected to both deliver and support junior colleagues with a range of
paediatric assessments and (re)habilitation from birth through to transition. Managerial responsibilities will include line management, service evaluation and improvement and quality assurance as well as day to day leadership support.
As a Principal Audiologist you will be a senior member of a team, providing a comprehensive and effective paediatric audiology service for children referred from South-East London and beyond.
The post-holder will take an important clinical role in all functions of the Service, with responsibility for the skilled performance of a wide range of complex audiological work under the overall direction of the Clinical Lead and Head of the Service. You will be responsible for training and supporting junior colleagues and students and in the absence of the Head of Service and the Clinical Lead you will be expected to take overall clinical responsibility for the Service.
The post holder will actively contribute to the development of the Service as a centre of excellence by taking lead responsibility for one or more clinical functions of the Service. You will be responsible for carrying out service improvement and research projects as well as contributing to quality assurance and audit.
As a Principal Audiologist you will be responsible for line managing clinical staff and supporting their clinical and professional development
Guy’s and St Thomas’ Paediatric Audiology Service is the largest of its kind in the UK, operating as a non-medical consultant-led centre of excellence. We are proud to be a UKAS Accredited Medical Diagnostic Service (No. 9980), a testament to our commitment to the highest clinical standards and quality assurance. Joining us means working at the forefront of the profession within a supportive, innovation-driven culture that provides a robust platform for the next stage of your clinical or managerial career.
