Traffic Direct Ltd is looking for a Transport Manager to join the team in Worsley, North Manchester.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for transportation and anything mechanical. Must be able to work independently and provide excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
o Managing daily operations of the company’s fleet of vehicles.
o Ensuring vehicles, plant and equipment are serviced and maintained within regulatory and company standards.
o Developing and enforcing policies and corporate standards that govern the use of vehicles, plant, and equipment.
o Managing the workshop and warehouse staff.
o Providing timely and professional support to employees in a demanding environment.
o Liaising with other departments ensuring paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
o Sourcing and purchasing vehicle, plant, equipment, and parts.
o Monitoring and advising on vehicle and driver compliance issues.
o Providing as necessary driver advice and training.
o Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
o 5 years of experience in transportation industry, preferably in management or leadership role.
o Excellent opportunity for an innovative and driven individual with a “can do” approach of running a busy workshop and warehouse.
o You will be confident, well organised with excellent communication and administration skills and be a team player.
o CPC qualification desirable.
o HGV Class 2 Licence desirable.
o Experience working around or with plant and machinery.
o Some form of official training in commercial transport management
