The Role:
TeacherActive is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant to work in a variety of schools in Colchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for sport and education who wants to inspire young people and support their academic and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
•
Deliver high-quality PE sessions and sports coaching activities
•
Support teachers with classroom learning across a range of subjects
•
Work one-to-one or with small groups of students to reinforce learning
•
Encourage teamwork, confidence, and a positive attitude to physical activity
•
Assist with behaviour management and classroom organisation
•
Support extracurricular sports clubs, competitions, and events
Requirements:
•
Experience in sports coaching, youth work, or working within a school setting
•
A positive, energetic, and engaging personality
•
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
•
Ability to motivate and support students of varying abilities
•
Relevant coaching qualifications or PE background (desirable but not essential)
•
An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
