RECYCLING OPERATIVE | PERMANENT | £28,000
Are you an experienced operative, looking for a permanent opportunity? A role that would offer you regular, consistent shifts and pay you a generous monthly salary? This opportunity could be for you!
We're working with a well-established waste processing business to find a reliable and experienced Operative for a permanent role on their site. If you're hands-on, practical, and looking for long-term stability, this could be a great fit.
The Hours
This role runs on a rotating two-week shift pattern:
• Week 1: Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 15:30
• Week 2: Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:30
(30-minute lunch break each day)
What You'll Be Doing
• Checking food waste deliveries as they arrive and deciding whether to accept or turn them away
• Running and cleaning waste processing machines
• Making sure waste packaging is disposed of properly to keep the end product clean
• Filling in daily paperwork and checklists
• Following site rules around waste handling and the environment
• Helping out in other areas of the site when needed
• Driving a forklift, loading shovel, or telehandler when required — full training provided if you need it
What We're Looking For
• You'll need your own transport to get to site — it's not on a bus route
• Happy to do physical, hands-on work — this role involves lifting and some strong smells!
• Aware of basic health and safety
• A good team player who can communicate clearly
• Any experience with industrial shredding or screening machines is a bonus
• Forklift or heavy machinery experience is a plus, but not a must - training will be given to the right candidate
Why Apply?
This is a stable, permanent position offering £28,000 per annum with a well-run operation in the growing waste and environmental sector.
If you want consistent hours, a hands-on role, and a long-term home, it's well worth a conversation.
