We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Learning and Development Advisor to join our Trust Learning & Development team. Working under the direction of the Mandatory and Statutory Training (MAST) Clinical Lead and the Seni Lewis Training Programme Leads, you will deliver, evaluate, and continually improve a wide portfolio of mandatory and statutory training programmes across the Trust.
This role includes delivery of core subjects such as:
The Seni Lewis Training Programme
Moving & Handling
Immediate Life Support
Basic Life Support
First Aid
Fire Warden
Oliver McGowan Training
You will undertake competency‑based assessments, support clinical services through in‑reach activity, and contribute to reviewing and updating the MAST curriculum. The role includes physical and theoretical training delivery, which will reach 4–5 teaching days per week.
The post holder will be based at the Croydon Training Centre, Bethlem Royal Hospital, with travel to all Trust sites as required.
• Lead delivery of mandatory and statutory training using a range of teaching methods across classroom, team‑based, virtual, and in‑practice environments.
• Assess learner competence through a range of competency‑based assessment methods to ensure safe practice.
• Contribute to the design and review of training activities, lesson plans, and presentations, ensuring alignment with legislation, policy, and professional standards.
• Maintain and develop your own clinical skills through regular clinical practice.
• Support co‑facilitation and co‑production with people with lived experience.
• Support clinical teams through in‑reach activity related to MAST learning.
• Participate in evaluation and quality assurance processes.
• Maintain continued professional development and uphold professional standards.

Evaluate training outcomes and report within quality assurance frameworks.

Maintain awareness of current legislation, organisational procedures, and trends in healthcare training.
Work collaboratively within a small specialist team and across multi‑professional environments.
Supervise and support Learning & Development Trainers or unregistered staff as required.
