Are you confident and outgoing with an interest in patient care and wider health and well-being?

We are seeking to recruit 2 well organised, dedicated and committed Tobacco Dependency Advisors, one based at Colchester and one based at Ipswich, although you will be required to travel to other sites to meet business requirements.

You will deliver and promote the Tobacco Treatment Services at ESNEFT hospital sites, working collaboratively with clinical staff and partners, putting our patients at the heart of the Service.

You will be regularly working in demanding clinical and public areas dealing face- to- face with patients and visitors, many with complex needs.

Successful candidate will work unsupervised for the major of the time but will be supported by the Tobacco Treatment Operational Co-ordinator and the wider Health Inequalities Team as required; consequently, you should have the ability to work in a team and independently.

Working a 5-day-week you should have the flexibility to work on Saturdays or Sundays to enable the delivery of a 6-day-a-week service.

Ipswich interviews will be held on 16th April, whilst Colchester interviews will be held on 17th March.


• To educate and train staff to deliver Very Brief Advice (VBA)
• To deliver the Tobacco Treatment Services at ENSEFT Hospital sites.
• To promote the service throughout the hospital, delivering and taking part in promotional events both in the hospital and at community outreach days.
• Issuing Pharmaceutical products to patients, staff and visitors as appropriate and in accordance with ESNEFT Tobacco Treatment Service Protocols.
• Accessing and inputting information into databases to support the monitoring of the service Key Performance Indicators.
• Referring patients to stop smoking services/community pathways
• Working as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work across a 6 day week.
