We’re looking for a passionate and motivated team member to join us as a Family Carer Adviser in our Mental Health and Wellbeing Service. This is a fantastic opportunity to support adults who are caring for someone experiencing mental health difficulties.
What you’ll be doing as a Family Carer Adviser (Mental Health)
Offering emotional support and tailored information, advice and guidance to family carers and affected others.
Work on a one-to-one basis where appropriate supporting carers explore their own goals and develop solution‑focused plans to balance the demands of the caring role.
Develop peer support groups shaped by carers’ needs and lived experience.
Working with colleagues and partners to strengthen pathways to support.
Working with marketing to produce inclusive online content to raise awareness and challenge stigma.
Maintaining accurate records and capturing meaningful outcomes.
Contributing to new initiatives driven by family carer feedback.
Supporting a culture of learning, collaboration and reflection across the organisation.
We are looking for someone who has:
An understanding of mental health and the impact on family carers
Excellent communication skills with ability to engage people from all backgrounds
Experience supporting individuals one-to-one or in groups
Ability to work creatively, compassionately, and within clear boundaries
Ability to prioritise and manage workload accurately and independently and in a solution focused way
Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and positive action
Willingness to travel within rural areas and work flexibly
