Core Purpose
To lead the attendance team, both operationally and strategically, in liaison with the senior leader responsible for attendance/Attendance Champion. To proactively support and engage with students and their families, to improve attendance levels and reduced persistent absence in line with the School Improvement plan. To have responsibility for the monitoring and improvement of attendance and punctuality of all students across the school, ensuring that attendance rises above national expectation through effective collaboration with all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
The School Attendance Officer plays a vital role in promoting student engagement and reducing absenteeism. They combine administrative expertise, communication skills, and intervention strategies to ensure students attend school regularly, support families and maintain compliance with legal and Trust/school requirements.
