What skills and experience we're looking for
The performing arts is central to life at Belmont Community School. Each year we stage large scale performances including a pantomime and summer musical. These productions can involve well over a hundred students and are a school tradition ever since the school held a performing arts specialism.
We are seeking an individual with the passion, creativity, and leadership skills to lead a thriving Performing Arts department. As a passionate teacher, you will have the energy and commitment to help drive our students’ learning and artistic expression through the delivery of engaging, innovative, and challenging drama lessons, keeping up to date with curriculum developments.
For the right candidate, this post could attract additional responsibility payments (TLR) for those able to offer a significant contribution to our school.
What the school offers its staff
Central to the success of our school is a team that works hard for the students and each other. In return, we will support you to ensure you achieve your ambitions. We take a sensible approach to workload and our staff are well motivated and enjoy coming to work. As our name implies, the school lies at the heart of its community. As a result of high expectations, enthusiastic teaching and very positive relationships, students enjoy school and want to do well. Belmont has a track record of excellent academic results, outstanding student welfare and great staff well-being.
Belmont Community School has fantastic facilities within our newly built school and offers an excellent induction programme and an exciting learning and teaching environment. Quite simply, Belmont is a great place to work!
If you are considering this opportunity, we strongly advise getting in touch for an informal chat with the Headteacher as we have very low staff turnover and jobs do not come up very often.
Commitment to safeguarding
Belmont Community School is committed to safer recruitment practice and pre-employment checks will be undertaken before any appointment is confirmed. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check. The post you are applying for is exempt from the rehabilitation of offender’s act 1974.
