Priory School is a happy and thriving Secondary School based in Lewes, East Sussex. It is a very successful school with an excellent reputation. The Governors are seeking to appoint a temporary Teaching Assistant (until July 2027), experienced in working with students with Special Educational Needs and in particular, students with Autism.
This position is based within the Oak Centre (ASC Support Centre) and on the main school site. The role includes supporting the Oak Lead teacher and HLTA with leading classes within the facility, as well as supporting children and their class teachers with differentiating activities within mainstream lessons. You will be required to deliver primary level 1:1 and small group lessons. You will be working with outstanding SEN professionals and teachers.
This role is suitable for candidates who:
• Are confident, proactive and dedicated
• Are able to demonstrate creative behaviour management skills and teaching styles
• Have good academic qualifications and people skills
The actual yearly salary is £17,641 to £17,920 (39 working weeks, 6.05 holiday weeks, 45.05 total paid weeks). The hours of work are 30 hours a week term time only 8.30 a.m. to 3.15 p.m. The grade is Grade 4, Scale point 9-10, £25,185 to £25,583.
