About us
At UCL, London's Global University, our estate plays a vital role in enabling world-leading research, teaching and the student experience. The UCL estate spans more than 240 buildings, over 6.5 million square feet of academic space and around 4,500 student bedrooms across our Bloomsbury campus and UCL East in Stratford.
UCL Estates is responsible for managing this diverse and complex estate, from strategic planning and asset management through to the delivery of major capital projects and day-to-day operational services. Our multidisciplinary team of around 350 professionals works together to ensure the university's buildings and infrastructure support over 46,000 students and 13,000 staff.
With a strong focus on sustainability, accessibility and the campus experience, we are delivering an ambitious Estates Strategy and Masterplan that will shape UCL's campuses for decades to come.
About the role
The Programme Analyst role sits within the Portfolio Management Office (PMO), which plays a central role in ensuring the successful governance, oversight and delivery of projects and programmes across UCL Estates.
In this role, you will support the effective management and assurance of a diverse portfolio of estate projects, working closely with project managers, delivery teams and senior leaders to track progress, monitor governance and ensure consistent project management standards are applied. You will help ensure that project information is accurate, timely and insightful, enabling informed decision-making across the organisation.
The role involves analysing programme data, producing high-quality reports and dashboards, and identifying emerging risks, issues and dependencies across multiple projects. You will also support governance processes such as stage gate reviews, project health checks and portfolio reporting, helping to maintain a robust control environment while supporting the continuous improvement of PMO processes and tools.
Working across multiple projects simultaneously, you will play a key role in strengthening the PMO's ambition to become a more insight-driven function that delivers clear analysis and meaningful performance insights to senior stakeholders.
About you
You are an analytical and organised professional with experience working in a PMO, programme support or project controls environment, ideally within estates, construction or another complex organisational setting. You understand the principles of project and programme governance and are confident working with large volumes of data to produce clear and insightful reporting.
You are comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and projects at the same time, bringing strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-moving environment. Your analytical mindset enables you to interpret complex information, identify trends or emerging issues and communicate them clearly to support decision-making.
You will likely hold a relevant qualification in project or programme management, such as PRINCE2 or MSP, or have equivalent experience gained through working in project environments. Most importantly, you bring a collaborative approach, strong communication skills and a proactive attitude towards improving processes and supporting the successful delivery of programmes across UCL Estates.
