Job Title: Locum Dentist
Location: Wolverhampton
Contract Type: Fixed-Term Locum (1 Month)
Working Pattern: 4 Days per Week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday – No Tuesdays)
Daily Rate: £500 per day
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Locum Dentist to join our well-established dental practice for a one-month assignment. This role is ideal for a clinician who is confident working independently and can quickly integrate into a busy practice environment.
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across a full range of general dentistry services, ensuring continuity of care for our existing patient base during the locum period.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive general dental care, including examinations, diagnoses, and treatment planning
Carry out a wide range of routine and preventative treatments such as fillings, extractions, root canal treatments, and oral health advice
Identify and manage dental emergencies and urgent care cases as required
Maintain clear, accurate, and compliant clinical records in line with GDC and practice standards
Communicate effectively with patients, ensuring informed consent and a positive patient experience
Work closely with dental nurses and the wider practice team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
Adhere to all cross-infection, health & safety, and clinical governance protocols
Manage appointment schedules efficiently to optimise patient flow and minimise delays
Practice Environment
Established patient list with a steady flow of appointments
Support from qualified dental nurses and an experienced reception team
Modern, fully equipped surgeries (details can be tailored: e.g., digital X-rays, rotary endo, etc.)
Friendly and professional working environment focused on patient care
Requirements
Fully registered with the General Dental Council (GDC)
Valid indemnity insurance
Previous experience in general dental practice (NHS, private, or mixed)
Strong clinical competence across a range of general dentistry procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt quickly to a new clinical setting and software systems
Reliable, punctual, and professional approach to work
Working Schedule
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Tuesdays not required
Consistent weekly schedule for the duration of the 1-month contract
Remuneration & Benefits
£500 per day (fixed, no UDA targets unless otherwise specified)
