We are an innovative team dedicated to promoting the health and wellbeing of the Children in Care in the Tees Valley area. To be an effective children in care nurse; you will need excellent communication skills and a passion for public health, alongside good organisational skills, flexibility to meet the needs of the service, and ability to travel independently to meet service delivery which includes:- Gathering information from the childs clinical record to assess and analyse risk and where appropriate; sharing proportionate information at safeguarding meetings, ensuring signposting to other relevant health services. Using good communication skills, share sensitive information appropriately with the professionals within the multi-agency arena, the Safeguarding Children team and HDFT practitioners. Using own initiative to manage and prioritise workload within trust policies and the Safeguarding code of conduct. Establishing effective working relationships with all colleagues and the wider HDFT 0-19 team and Safeguarding Children Team. Establishing effective working relationships and networks with all professionals and agencies contributing to safeguarding of children and young people. Utilising knowledge and skills of child health development, the law and identification of risk, offer professional challenge as required to safeguard children and young people, utilising support from senior colleagues and local escalation policy. Experience of working with children and young people with complex health and social needs in the community, would be an advantage.
