Looking for a hands-on role where every day is different? Join our small, expanding team as a Cleaning Technician (casual basis) and help make a real impact.

Location:
On-the-road, working primarily in and around WITNEY area, including parts of the COTSWOLDS (within Oxfordshire) – includes use of a company vehicle (small car-derived van) for business purposes only.
Hours:
Casual - days worked are based on applicants availability and service demand, with anticipation of 3 per week initially. Week-day, 9am-5pm, with flexibility on both sides.
Applicant availability to be provided up to 1 week in advance (e.g. by Wednesday for the following week).

Your tasks:
You’ll be out on the road each day (with pre-planned work provided) carrying out specialist cleaning tasks such as:
- Mould remediation (clean, treat, paint),
- Hoarding clearance & cleaning,
- Void property clearance & cleaning,
- Extreme/specialist cleaning.

This is not meant to be an exhaustive list, and other tasks within your skill and training level may be set over time, within realistic boundaries. There are opportunity to train and diversify your skills with us.

To begin with, you’ll be carrying out 2-3 mould remediation tasks a day. Otherwise, as part of our small team, you may be working on larger projects such as hoarding and clearances. You will take before/after photographs, completing works as described (tackling any additional challenges that present themselves, or seeking assistance where necessary). Prompt reporting of works completed, hours, and any problems found is very important, and if you're unsure of anything, a manager will be available at all times.

About us:
Specialist Cleaning Limited are a small team, delivering the highest standards in specialist cleaning. We provide a full range of crime scene, trauma, biohazard, and disaster cleaning services nationally from our base in West Oxfordshire - this is a great opportunity to join a three-year-old company in a time of growth.
We have been involved in high profile large-scale flooding and fire incidents and can offer future full-time employment and exposure to such projects as time progresses. Opportunities like this are rare and a great in-road to specialist and crime scene cleaning.

Future Progression:
Opportunity to progress to Specialist Technician, responding to biohazard, trauma, flooding and sewage incidents nationwide (if you wish to). Full-time employment possibilities.
Full training, uniform and equipment are provided.

Hourly rate:
£16 per hour - starting (equivalent to £30,784 FTE) plus opportunity of additional hours as demand increases. This includes all travel time between clients, with a minimum 30 minute unpaid break in each day. For example, a typical 9am-5pm day (7.5 hours) would amount to £120 gross pay.

Payment cycle: Monthly (last day).
Holiday: Statutory, calculated per actual working hours.
Start date: Mid-April 2026

Requirements:
- A full clean driving license.
- Due to the nature of this work, and insurance terms, we cannot consider applicants under the age of 18.
- A basic DBS check may be necessary as our work involves working in tenanted homes - to read our Employing Ex-Offenders Policy, please contact us by email.

Who We’re Looking For:
We’d love to hear from applicants who are based in or very close to Witney, Oxfordshire - the bulk of the working locations are in this area. You’ll need to be reliable, flexible, confident, and ready to take on a variety of challenging but rewarding tasks.

A can-do approach, with the ability to deliver the highest standard of service along with following health, safety and quality guidance is essential.

It is not essential to have any cleaning experience and we welcome applications from those who would like to form an important and integral part of our small team, with an eagerness to deliver quality every time.

Due to the nature of our work, hours are not guaranteed and are offered on a casual basis initially - we operate on both a planned and reactive basis, either providing routine planned services (such as mould remediation and hoarding clearance/cleaning) or emergency reactive cleaning services (such as crime scenes, biohazard and floods). Grasping the opportunity to be a part of a growing company is important, along with adaptability, with the potential of full-time employment as we continue to grow.

The ideal applicant should be keen to undertake this work - it can be challenging and unusual, but very rewarding.

Applicant Considerations: Please note that some aspects of our work can be physically demanding, such as property clearance, therefore the ability to carry some substantial weight, on occasion without lifting equipment, is necessary. Where necessary, sack trucks and similar equipment will be provided. On occasion, you may also need to complete these works in full personal-protective equipment, which can be physically taxing.

Moreover, some of the circumstances we face daily can be challenging, and the ability to converse comfortably and professionally with people from all backgrounds, without judgement, is vital.

Interested Parties:
All interested applicants should send their up-to-date CV to 'vacancies@specialist.cleaning'. A brief (no more than 400 words) cover letter detailing your interest, usual availability and any relevant experience is advantageous but not compulsory. Please note, all CVs and cover letters are checked against AI generators - if found to be heavily AI-reliant, this may affect our hiring decision.
