We have an exciting opportunity for a Voids Skilled Operative to join the Norwich City Services Limited (NCSL) team. If you are a team-player, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.
About the role:
Join our dynamic Environmental Services team, delivering high‑quality labouring and cleaning support across domestic void properties. This hands‑on role involves clearing bulk waste, demolishing external structures, and transforming overgrown gardens through strimming, cutting back and mowing to prepare properties for client handover. You’ll carry out a range of cleaning tasks — including lettable, welfare and environmental cleans — working efficiently both independently and as part of a team. You’ll use equipment and vehicles safely, follow schedules, complete essential paperwork, and communicate clearly with management to ensure smooth operations. With a strong focus on safety, professionalism and excellent customer service, you’ll help maintain high standards across every property. Training is provided, and duties may vary, offering a varied and active working environment.
The ideal candidate brings proven experience in a similar hands‑on role, confidently carrying out manual labour, demolition work, and tasks at height using steps and ladders safely. They are a strong communicator who understands written and verbal instructions, works effectively alone or as part of a team, and maintains excellent attention to detail. Reliable, organised, and committed to high standards, they manage their own workload, meet deadlines under pressure, and consistently deliver great customer service. Desirable qualities include BICSc training, knowledge of Health & Safety requirements, experience using carpet or hard‑floor machinery, and familiarity with PDA devices or similar technology.
Why Choose Us?
• Living Wage Employer
• Cycle to Work Scheme
• Supportive and inclusive environment and culture
• Employee Assistant Support and Occupational Health
• Commitment to learning and development
• 25 days annual leave, rising by a day each year until 30 days is reached. Plus 8 bank holidays and a Christmas shut down period.
This role is for 37 hours per week, but to ensure flexibility and promote an inclusive workplace part time hours or a job share agreement will be considered.
