SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: £90 - £95 per day Contract: Long-term Contract Age Group: 4 - 19 years

The Setting

Join a dedicated team within a unique environment that supports children and young people (aged 4-19) with complex neurological conditions, epilepsy, autism, and learning difficulties. Offering both day and residential placements, we provide a holistic approach to education and wellbeing, ensuring our students feel safe, understood, and empowered.

The Role

As a long-term SEN TA, you will be a vital part of a multidisciplinary team. Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Specialised Support: Assisting students with complex needs, ensuring their safety and engagement in learning activities.

  • Medical Awareness: Maintaining a calm and vigilant approach to supporting students with epilepsy and other neurological conditions.

  • Personalised Care: Implementing tailored strategies for autism and learning difficulties as outlined in EHCPs.

  • Transition Support: Helping students navigate the move between classroom learning and their residential environment.

What We Are Looking For
  • Resilience & Compassion: You have a natural ability to remain calm under pressure and provide a high standard of care.

  • Experience: Previous experience with complex needs, epilepsy, or ASD is highly desirable.

  • Commitment: As this is a long-term contract, we are looking for someone who wants to build lasting relationships with our young people.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills (experience with Makaton or PECS is a bonus).

Why Apply?
  • Daily Rate: £90 - £95 per day.

  • Professional Growth: Gain invaluable experience in a specialised field involving complex neurological conditions.

  • Long-term Stability: A consistent role within a supportive and highly skilled team.
