The Opportunity:
We are looking for a part-time Information and Support Assistant to join our friendly and welcoming Edhelp Team. The position is based primarily in the Noreen and Kenneth Murray Library, supporting the College of Science and Engineering, on the green and vibrant King’s Buildings campus. During university vacation periods you’ll be based at the University’s Main Library in George Square – right in the heart of the city.
What the job involves:
Providing frontline support to students, staff and visitors of the University across a range of services including Library, IT, Student Finance and Student Administration
Giving excellent customer service while offering face-to-face and online help and information to users
Shelving and shelf checking, and supporting our Scan & Deliver service amongst other collections work.
Managing a high volume in-person and online enquiries, working flexibly in order to respond to shifting service needs
Resolving user queries whenever possible, passing on those which require more specialist help
This post is part-time (16 hours per week).
Semester hours at the Noreen and Kenneth Murray Library:
Sunday:12pm-5pm
Monday – Tuesday: 2:30pm-8pm
Vacation hours at the Main Library:
Sunday: 12pm-5pm
Monday – Tuesday: 1:30pm-7pm
