Crynodeb
The Registrar in Emergency Medicine (ST3+) will work as part of the middlegrade team within the Emergency Department at Charing Cross Hospital, providing highquality assessment and management of patients presenting with a wide range of acute and undifferentiated conditions. The post holder will work across all clinical areas including rapid assessment, resuscitation, majors, and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), initiating investigations, formulating diagnoses, and delivering timely treatment. The role includes developing advanced procedural skillssuch as peripheral and central venous access, arterial cannulation, chest drain insertion, and the use of pointofcare ultrasoundwhile supervising junior doctors and contributing to a supportive and progressive departmental culture. The post offers structured educational development with weekly teaching, quality improvement opportunities, and guidance toward completing RCEM examinations. The successful candidate will be trained and supported to act as a senior clinical decisionmaker, with access to secondments in Anaesthetics, Intensive Care, and Paediatrics as needed for career progression.
