Plus generous benefits, including:• 55 days annual leave per year pro rata (including bank holidays and efficiency closures)• Teachers' Pension Scheme About the roleWe are seeking a dedicated and inspiring Geography Teacher to join us on a part time, fixed term basis to cover a period of maternity leave.You will become part of a small, enthusiastic Geography team within our wider Science department. Most teaching is at A level, and our established courses are supported by a strong range of high quality resources. We also work closely with the Cranedale Field Studies Centre, which enriches the fieldwork component of the curriculum.Geography is a highly popular subject at our college, with many students progressing to university to study Geography or related disciplines. Our learners are motivated, engaged, and eager to succeed. Visitors frequently comment on the positive learning atmosphere and the excellent behaviour of our students.We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and those who are newly qualified or about to qualify.This is a fixed-term position from August 2026 for a period of up to one year.About the person We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for Geography and a commitment to inspiring our enthusiastic students. You will bring strong subject knowledge, a positive approach to teaching, and the ability to create engaging and inclusive learning experiences.Ideally, you will have experience teaching A level Geography, but this is not essential. What matters most is your enthusiasm for the subject and your ability to build positive relationships with students.You will be a reflective practitioner who is open to new ideas, committed to continuous improvement, and keen to support students in achieving their full potential. Strong organisational skills, effective communication, and a collaborative mindset will help you thrive within our supportive and friendly team.About the CollegeWe are a large, regional college serving a population across York and North Yorkshire of more one million people.
