***This is a fixed term contract not to exceed 30th September 2028, depending upon budgetary constraints***

This position is for a Watch Analyst, a critical role responsible for directing the organization's intelligence watch activities. The analyst leads the intelligence watch team to produce and deliver daily intelligence briefings for both the NATO Intelligence Fusion Centre (NIFC) and SHAPE J2 leadership. A key part of the role involves providing fused intelligence to SHAPE J2 and deployed forces, particularly those supporting Combined Joint Task Force and NATO Reaction Force operations. Furthermore, the analyst acts as the primary duty officer, represents the NIFC Chief in their absence, and offers direct support for crisis and contingency operations as well as daily missions. A strong understanding of NATO operations and intelligence processes is essential for this position.

Qualifications & Key Skills required for this role

A University Degree related to the position, and 10 years related experience in the key skills listed below:

1. Knowledge of the concepts, principles, polices, and practices of intelligence collection, production and dissemination.
2. Knowledge of written and oral communication principles, methods, and techniques to conduct and coordinate intelligence activities.
3. Knowledge of the principles and methods of intelligence analysis.
4. Skill in gathering, evaluating, and interpreting data to arrive at valid conclusions and offer meaningful recommendations.
5. Skill in establishing effective working relationships with people sharing similar goal, and interests.
6. Skill in producing written information, reports and briefings.
7. A working knowledge of standard automated data processing systems, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, e-mail and Internet systems.

Conditions of employment for this role
1. You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations. You must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
2. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft, and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training.
3. This position may be coded as mission essential.
4. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period.
5. You will be required to obtain a NATO SECRET clearance.
6. You will be on rotational shift (72 hours over two weeks) which will include weekends and holidays. Overtime may be required, and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set. Recall to duty may be a requirement of this position.
7. You may be subject to random drug testing.
8. You will observe US holidays in lieu of UK Holidays

NOTE: You will require a security clearance and a right to work in the UK.

This position may have certain restrictions to US citizens including US dual nationals due to the Status of Forces Agreement.
