I am Vicky, the Consultant Clinical Psychologist for the Learning Disability (LD) Care Hub. At the LD care hub we serve adults aged 18+ years and with some provision to children and young people. The LD care hub includes Radcliffe Place which provides short-term accommodation and therapy for people with a learning disability, aged 16 to 25 years, from across Greater Manchester, as well as five community teams across the footprint of Pennine Care. We are looking for a innovative and compassionate community based Clinical Psychologist. Newly qualified Clinical Psychologists are encouraged to apply and join our supportive preceptorship programme. We have an established a consultant led specialist learning disability clinical psychology pathway that works as an essential element of a multidisciplinary model of care. Clinical Psychology is valued locally within our community teams and within the wider Trust. Working base will be discussed at interview. We offer a robust supervision and development structure. You will be part of an expanding, energetic, innovative LD care hub team that values coproduction and working alongside people with lived experience and promotes trauma informed care. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a multi-agency team, working alongside Clinical Psychologists, Learning Disability Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychiatrists and other multidisciplinary mental health practitioners.

To practice as an integral member of the multi-disciplinary learning disability team providing a highly specialist direct and indirect clinical psychology services to people with learning disabilities and their support system.

The postholder will take an active role in coordinating service development and engagement by supporting: service delivery including development and delivery of psychological pathways, development and delivery of training, conducting research, audit, and evaluation. We are committed to developing our staff and supporting career progression. Successful applicants will have numerous opportunities to engage in CPD related activities. In addition to this the post holder will have the opportunity to engage with our learning disability research hub alongside our research partners across Greater Manchester.

The post holder will be a member of the Community Learning Disabilities Team and will provide clinical psychology services in this context. The post holder will be expected to work withpeople with learning disabilities, their families, support staff, and other professionals around highly complex, psychological, emotional or behavioural issues. This includes working with complex challenging behaviour, abuse, family breakdown, personality disorders and severe and enduring mental health problems, risk of harm to self or others.
